About this composition:

This is a piece for flute sounds, and modeling of timbres from the far east. In particular the sound of the Shakuhachi. The timbre, for the most, was achieved Spectral Modeling Synthesis. The inspirational sources for the piece are a Shakuhachi performance and a subway station in Hong Kong . The environment at the time, the high percentage of humidity, and a hot temperature also contributed to this soundscape. SMS provides means for controlling the sound of wind and the vibrations of the wood. This piece was composed at MOX- Center for Advanced Computation at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota - Colombia.
