About this composition:

Occupied Space is a piece for guitar and tape based on the principles of controlled improvisation. It is a conceptual process that represents the gradual occupation of an abstract space by sound elements that appear in groups of one, two, three and four consecutively. The performer establishes a dialogue with the tape while contributing to the configuration of the overall sound texture. The piece was dedicated to Cuban composer-guitarist Flores Chaviano and premiered in Madrid, Spain in 1990.
