Veronica Zidarich

Virtual Worlds as Architectural Space: An Exploration

We're publishing the findings of research that Veronica Zidarich has conducted on architecture, on the architecture of the Web's virtual worlds, on on-line communities, and more generally on the impact of computers and networks on architecture. This publication is in fact a site that explores a computer-graphic world simulating a virtual visit to a network of galleries. In investigating these social and cultural phenomena, Ms. Zidarich favours a didactic approach that may inspire in-class discussions.

Ms. Zidarich graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Cordoba in Argentina in 1996. For the next two years, she worked as a freelance architect. She has been a researcher at the Foundation since 1998. After earning a master's degree in architecture from Montreal's McGill University in 1999, Ms. Zidarich began overseeing the production of the on-line bulletin.
