"Nkae" means "remembrances" in Twi. This song was created as a memorial or remembrance of those Gold Coasters who fought gallantly to gain independence with the late Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on the 6th of March 1957. The Gold Coast on that day came to be known as Ghana. The names of some of these great sons of Ghana can be heard in this song.
