Arturo Ruiz del Pozo (born in Lima, 1949) studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Lima and later at the Royal College of Music in London where he studied composition and electronic music. He received in 1976 the scholarship that leads him to England, where he received a Master in Music degree from the University of London in 1978.

Del Pozo composed his "Canciones Nativas" (including "Lago de Totoras", "Despegue" and "Noche", among others) in 1978 working at the Royal College of Music; and in 1985 "Nocturno", for 3 performers and electronic sounds.
