Edgardo S. Cantón Aguirre (born in 1963) studied composition at the University of Chile, electroacoustic music at the Edgar Varèse Conservatory in Paris, France, and digital arts at the Institute Phonos - Universidad Pompeus Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.

Among other pieces he composed: "Aurora" and "Lovecraft", electroacoustic music, both from 1994; "Promenade d´ete´ d´ulis nasa", from 1995; "Des Elements", "Saint Michel en Carretera Nocturna", "Encuentro" and "Recuerdo", all electroacoustic pieces from 1996; "Memoria de los Andes II" for male chorus and electroacoustics from 1999; and "Los sueños de Attar", electroacoustic music, between 2002 and 2003

He is at present Professor of Composition and Electroacoustic Music at the University of Chile, in the Music and Sonology Department of the Arts Faculty.
