At the exhibition Processos, which was the opening exhibit of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid in 1986, I video grabbed an image of Queen Sofia. She then asked her companion, “What is she going to do to my face?” I replied, “Nothing! You do something!” She then signed her name with the digital pen and I repeated it in Spanish flag colors as a background for her. Oddly in 1983 at the exhibition Electra in the Musee d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, Jack Lang, minister of culture, did almost the same thing when I handed him a digital pen. In that case he wrote my name. That image is in the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography. (Sonia Sherian)
