About this composition:

módulos II [1980-I], for guitar, voice and tape

Written at the request of guitarist GarryAntonio. The work is essentially for guitar and tape, with optional voice part. The tape part duplicates some of the vocal sounds. If the piece is done without a singer, the guitarist must do some of the percussive/vocal effects.

módulos II expands on some ideas taken from módulos I, basically using a limited number of elements [modules] that are developed mostly by repetition and re-combinations. Most of the tape part is derived from pre-recorded guitar sounds, processed through a synthesizer [filtering, ring modulation] and digital delay machine. Speed variation and phasing were among the studio techniques applied.

Premiere: June 10, 1982, at Pollack Hall.

Score published by SHELAN [eSp 8202]
