About this composition:

Commission from the G.M.E.B.

The G.M.E.B. requires me for the commission of a work on the matter: "The Tree and the Forest". I
found amusing the idea of a forest upon a flying saucer. That allowed me to explore new experiments, to create contrasted environments, to immerse again inside spatial polyphonies with a "near-far" play and for the pleasure or recording, by the way, some animals at the zoo de Vincennes (Paris). A baby crocodile succeeded in biting my little finger: it made such a curious noise when it was angry! That noise gave me the idea of calling the piece The U.F.O. (Unidentified Flying Object) Forest in English because, of the similarity between its pronunciation and the "rustling" noise of the tiny reptile.
