Hexagram

Hexagram Fund for University Research and Creation in Media Arts and Technologies

Hexagram was established in 2001 to provide state-of-the-art equipment, resources and management infrastructure to new media art and design researchers from Concordia University, Université de Montréal, and the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM).

The productive association between Hexagram and the Daniel Langlois Foundation is what led to the creation in 2006 of the Hexagram Fund for University Research and Creation in Media Arts and Technologies. Three other major partners were quick to join the project: the Cirque du Soleil, the Gillett Entertainment Group and The Next Adventure (Clear Channel Entertainment).

The Hexagram Fund is dedicated to research and creation in media arts and funds interdisciplinary research involving media arts researchers from university circles, the industry sector or cultural organizations. This fund allows for the support of research especially in the fields of film and digital television, interactive games, performing arts, interactive multimedia (educational and cultural).

Support will be awarded to those artists-researchers working closely with scientists, computer specialists or engineers who get involved in a partnership with an artist/research member of Hexagram. Independent artists-researchers, not affiliated with a university, may also receive support from the fund provided their research project can be integrated into Hexagram's activities and laboratories.
