Arts Council of England

Collaboration and Ownership in the Digital Economy (CODE)

(London, England, United Kingdom)

The Arts Council of England is the national arts funding agency for England. The Collaborative Arts Unit in particular works with partners inside and outside the arts funding system, investing in research and exploring development opportunities for new areas of activity. At present, the Arts Council of England is organizing a unique conference to bring together a diverse group of experts in technology. The central goal of the conference is to forge a transdisciplinary understanding of the role of software in socio-economic development, artistic and engineering practice, and scientific research by focusing on the developing paradigm of "open" or "free" source software. Collaboration and Ownership in the Digital Economy (CODE) has focused primarily on content creation and policy implications, and was held from April 4 to 6, 2001.
