Crossing Over Communities: 6th Mini-International Festival of Videoshots

(Liverpool, England, United Kingdom)

FACT is Britain's leading development agency for artists and exhibitors working with creative technologies. The organization was established in 1988 and since then has successfully commissioned, supported and presented technology-based artworks to audiences from across the globe. The group is also behind Video Positive (1), a large international electronic-arts festival in Britain.

FACT hosted Crossing Over Communities, the Sixth Mini-international Festival of Videoshorts in July 2001 in Liverpool, England. The event, co-curated by Iliyana Nedkova and Nina Czegledy, helps build bridges between remote communities and individuals. It is also an alternative framework for Eastern European artists to develop, produce and present experimental short digital films. Crossing Over Communities is where micro-enterprise and micro-revolution meet through a series of residencies for creating digital shorts.
