"Save Twilight"
Selected poems by Julio Cortazar,
Translated by Stephen Kessler,
Music: Arcangel C. Olivari

First of all this project in Sonic Art is a work in progress, and also a project in collaboration with other artists.

These pieces are a preliminar approach of what I am going to do using the human voice reading the poems by the Argentinean writer Julio Cortazar mixed with digitally synthesized sound.

As an experiment on Timbre the main source is the human voice and also the inspiration for the work. The structure of the work will be determinated for the poetry, and basically there will be a serie of movements each one corresponding to a different poem from the antology "Save Twilight".

Stephanie Skaff is the voice on the recording, she is currently studying Acting and Drama in the College-Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati. The photograph was taken by Lindsay Morgan who is student in the DAAP department also on UC. Luis Ianes on the classic guitar playing his own composition in "IfIAmToLive" was born in San Juan, Argentina. He is currently pursuing his bachellor at University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music in Classical Guitar, focusing also in composition.

The term Sonic Art or Sonic Design is more appropiated to me in the sense that any discussion about what is music and what is not would be irrelevant.
