["Variation VII" by John Cage] / Produced by Billy Klüver. — [Recorded October 16, 1966]. — 1 sound reel (85 min., 59 s.) : instantaneous, acoustic. — First recording of the October 16, 1966 performance of "Variations VII" presented within the framework of the "9 Evenings : Theatre and Engineering" event, The Armory (New York, N. Y., United States), October 13-23, 1966. — An inscription on the original sound reel container indicates that the performance was picked up by two microphones located on the balcony of the Armory, approximately 40 feet from the sound source. — Preservation copy made in 2005 (2 audio compact discs). — The Daniel Langlois Foundation for Art, Science, and Technology, 9 Evenings: Theatre and Engineering fonds.
