ISEA

The Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts

The Inter-Society was founded as a result of the First International Symposium on Electronic Arts (FISEA) held in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 1988. In 1995, ISEA moved its head office to Montreal where it is now based. ISEA is an international non-profit organization committed to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural communication and co-operation between the arts and the fields of technology, science, education and industry. ISEA creates platforms for:

- Exchanging ideas and critical discourse;
- Connecting communities and facilitating access to technologies;
- Conducting research, making presentations and holding exhibitions;

ISEA realizes this mission through organizing international symposia and local events, developing partnerships, implementing culturally diverse initiatives, and publishing. ISEA is committed to collaboration, membership participation, creation of new work, and multilingual communication. Through these means, ISEA and its symposia shape and respond to the evolving nature of the relationship between the arts and technology.
