Kathryn Farley is a Ph.D. candidate in Performance Studies at Northwestern University, (Evanston, Illinois, United States), where she is also an Adjunct Lecturer. In addition, she has written and directed several theatrical productions.

Based on an examination of the personal archives of Sonia Landy Sheridan, Farley proposes to chart the history of the Generative Systems program and trace its seminal impact on the development of technological arts education. The project will attempt to address the shortage of research on individual approaches to integrating technology into an arts-based curriculum, as well as the dearth of information about the early years of media-assisted learning in visual studies.
